I read a quote recently that I loved "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination". And then I was surprised by who the quote was attributed to - Jimmy Dean. I have the curiosity of a preschooler, so I turned to Google (and maybe I'm the last to know), but turns out Jimmy Dean was much more than a name brand of sausage.

But back to that incredibly relevant quote. We've all adjusted, altered and adapted this year quite possibly more than we ever have in our lives, and BOMA Greater Charlotte is no exception. As we approach this last quarter of the year, continue to keep an eye out for communication from BOMA, open those emails and read them so you don't miss one virtual (or in-person) moment!

Check out more in the newsletter below, but coming up soon:
  • Annual Membership Meeting Thursday, September 24th 4:00-5:00pm, followed by a virtual happy hour.
  • Principal Members that register will receive a Grab Bag that will include a $15 code for Uber Eats / DoorDash, 2 beers from a Charlotte brewery, cookies from a local bakery, and cool swag from Allied Members. In addition, there will be a raffle ticket in each bag for prizes and even gift cards ranging from $100-$250!
  • Most importantly, we will present our 2021 Board of Directors and 2021 Budget so that our voting members can submit their approval electronically. The voting member from each Principal company will receive a separate email regarding the procedure for this year given our virtual format.
  • There will be an engaging, and sometimes amusing video recap of all of our events since the AMM last year (there's more than you would think in a year with a pandemic!)
  • We will recognize our most recent recipients of RPA, FMA and other BOMI designations.
  • We will present awards for our Principal Member of the Year, Allied Member of the Year and Committee Volunteer of the Year.
  • Clay Shoot Friday, October 23rd 11:00am 4:00pm. There's no better place to social distance than the Great Outdoors! Lunch will again be provided by Bland Landscaping. The Fork has made modifications to accommodate for 6 ft distancing, food handling and safety.
  • Other virtual events Catch Up Over Coffee for our Principal members continues, and in October, we'll return to our webinar format with a presentation from a group of our Allied members.
  • Outreach - Join us as we sort food at Second Harvest Food Bank on November 12 (register here), save your Pop Tabs to benefit Ronald McDonald House (details below) and stay tuned for ways to help school children in our community through Classroom Central.
As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to me (elizabeth.fulk@fox.com) or to BOMA Greater Charlotte .

Stay healthy and safe and hope to see you online and/or in person soon!
Elizabeth
