 BOMA GREATER CHARLOTTE
SEPTEMBER 2022 NEWS
[Image]

Wanted to send a big thanks to everyone that came out earlier this month to our Annual Membership Meeting which was hosted in the ever growing South End submarket. It was a great opportunity to recap on the many successes of the organization, vote on a few items for the upcoming year, and hand out our annual membership awards.

In addition, we all took in some valuable insight from speaker & author John Eades who spoke on "The Leadership Lens". This topic certainly funnels into all our daily rolls and am hopeful everyone there was able to grasp a takeaway to make them a better leader and their teams a stronger unit.

I first want to give a big shoutout to our 2022 Annual Membership Award winners, this is a great group of individuals who's impacts were seen throughout the organization and are more than deserving of this recognition. So if you see them around make sure you extend a big congrats!

[Image]About BOMAPAC

BOMAPAC exists to allow BOMA International to have a seat at the table with policy influencers in Washington, D.C. Having a well-funded BOMAPAC is essential to increasing our level of engagement with members on Capitol Hill.

BOMAPAC supports candidates--Democrats and Republicans--who are demonstrated influencers concerning issues affecting the commercial real estate industry. Contribution recipients frequently include members of congressional leadership and committees with oversight of transportation, energy and commerce, tax policy, ways and means, financial services, and the judiciary among others.

Historically, BOMAPAC raised $40,000-$50,000 annually. However, over the last several years BOMAPAC has experienced huge growth. In 2017, BOMAPAC raised $65,000, $82,000 in 2018, and $90,000 in 2019 and had a goal of raising $100,000 in 2021. The growth in this program is a direct result in members' participation and interest in advocacy. We look forward to continuing to grow the PAC and expand our influence in Washington, D.C.
