BOMA Greater Charlotte

Dear Members,

December is a time of reflection on what we have accomplished over the year and where we are going in the future. Serving as your president this year has been a professional and personal honor, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity. As I turn over the leadership of our association to Alexis Fletemier, I am encouraged by our successes and confident that we will continue to strengthen our organization in the coming year.

A few key highlights from this year include:

  • Launching our new and improved website and social media efforts
  • Hosting a series of meetings with BOMA International President and Chief Operating Officer Henry Chamberlain in April
  • Establishing a new Advisory Committee with local industry leaders to discuss trends in commercial real estate and ways in which BOMA can benefit employees and companies
  • Introducing BOMA TAPS (The Allied & Principal Social), a program created to TAP into your current BOMA membership at after-hours socials
  • Featuring many other memorable events such as a speed networking social, Topgolf tournament, a night at the ballpark, clay shoot and holiday party

Serving our community has always been a focus and we appreciate your participation in over 10 community outreach opportunities. This year we established a new grant committee, and the following charities have been selected to receive a grant in 2019:

  • Charlotte Family Housing
  • Classroom Central
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Safe Alliance

Congratulations to our 2018 award winners for their dedication and commitment to BOMA Greater Charlotte:

* Suzanne Bereis - Principal Member of the Year
* Hunter Fleshood - Allied Member of the Year
* Allison Warren - Committee Volunteer of the Year

It takes a dedicated team of volunteers to make BOMA a successful organization. Thank you to the 2018 Board of Directors for their leadership, time and ongoing efforts to identify, coordinate and execute programs and opportunities to enhance the value of your membership. Our 12 committees have also been invaluable to the development of our organization. The committee rush in October was well received, and we are excited about members' growing interest to serve on a committee.

Lastly, thank you to our sponsors for their support. We are especially grateful for the 2018 Annual Sponsors for their contributions that allow us to provide excellent programs and initiatives for professional development.

On behalf of the Board, thank you for your membership and support. We welcome your thoughts, suggestions, and feedback on ways to strengthen our association and add value to your membership.

Thank you for the privilege of being your 2018 president. Wishing you all the best in 2019!
