I hope this letter finds you healthy and sane considering the unusual circumstances we're in!

I would start this letter with eloquent words of wisdom and encouragement, but I know you've likely read numerous resources, social media posts, employer communications and more regarding how to stay safe, positive, and motivated during this time. So I'll first be frank and say that I'm sad and disappointed we've had to cancel events our members were looking forward to the BOMA/IREM Community Service project in Tennessee, the annual Golf Tournament at Top Golf and the April luncheon, to name a few. But on the bright side, we will eventually get back to a new normal, and I know we'll be more ready than ever to participate and make the most out of our BOMA Memberships. In the meantime, BOMA Greater Charlotte will work to keep us all engaged in unconventional ways - a scavenger hunt you can do from your computer for starters, with other new technologies to come!
Our usual features are in this month's newsletter (Member Spotlight, Allied in Action, and Annual Sponsors), but also make note:
  • BOMA Resources for COVID19
  • EER that's for you Principal Members! We haven't had a strong participation in the EER Survey for several years. That means we're missing out on an excellent resource for benchmarking our properties.
  • Ronald McDonald House has changed their Wear a Shirt day, so there's still time to purchase one and help support their efforts during this financially challenging time.
Since we don't know when this hiatus will end, a quote BOMA International recently posted seems particularly relevant "Don't count the days, make the days count." But I thought of another, and completely random lyric that says it another way. From the "One Day at a Time" theme song,  a 70's show I watched as a kid:

"...While you're here, enjoy the view, keep on doing what you do. Hold on tight, we'll muddle through, one day at a time."

Stay well, take care, and I'm looking forward to seeing you on the other end of this!

As global concern over the novel coronavirus (now known as COVID-19) increases, BOMA International is actively working to provide commercial real estate professionals with credible information on how to mitigate the potential health and business impacts. Based on information from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), BOMA International has released a series of guidance documents to help property professionals navigate this public health concern.

BOMA International will continue to monitor this issue as it develops, and resources will be posted regularly to this webpage (www.boma.org/coronavirus). There you will be able to find a variety of webinars and guides to help assist you in moving forward.

We are also adding resources, almost daily, to the BOMA Greater Charlotte website.  For example, you may find this Property Manangement and Cleaning PowerPoint beneficial.  Please continue to check our website and BOMA International for updates.
