Please read the following before completing this nomination form.

  • BOMA Greater Charlotte Board of Directors Officers and Board of Directors Nominees must be Principal Members of BOMA Greater Charlotte in good standing (dues and invoices are paid and adheres to membership policies, including code of conduct).
  • Elected for 1-Year or 2-Year Term but may serve for successive terms if deemed appropriate and voted on by the nominations committee. 
  • Attend at least 80% of events offered by BOMA Greater Charlotte. 
    • Luncheons every other month starting in February, BOMA sponsored events, as well as new member coffees, Emerging Professional events and Outreach events. 
  • It is also expected that you are an active member of at least one committee, to provide your insights and provide direction to the committee to ensure that our leadership is represented, as well as to assist planning and events of the committee (s).  
  • Participate in the board retreat
  • Attend at least 80% of the Board meetings, which are held monthly, virtually. 
  • Executive committee (President, President Elect, Secretary/Treasurer and Past President agrees to attend one additional meeting per month, virtually. 

Below is a list of responsibilities for each position:
  • President - Association's chief elected officer and shall, in consultation with other Officers and under the direction of the Board, exercise general control and management of the Association. Shall preside at all meetings of the Association, serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and serve as ex-officio member of all committees. Shall appoint all committee members and chair persons subject to the approval of the Board of Directors. Shall approve all orders on the treasury for accounts, obligations, and debts against the Association, and shall approve the Annual Budget, all subject to approval by the Board of Directors. Shall submit to the members at the Annual Meeting a written report of work accomplished and results achieved for preceding 12 months on all matters of interest to the Association. May assign duties to Association employees as needed with the approval of the Board of Directors, but shall retain all rights and responsibilities set forth above and in law.
  • President Elect - Shall have primary direction of and responsibility for Association membership growth and retention and shall sit as Chairperson of the Membership Committee.  Shall perform such duties as the President or Board of Directors may designate, and in the absence or inability of the President to serve, shall perform the duties of President. May assign duties to Association employees as needed with the approval of the Board of Directors, but shall retain all rights and responsibilities set forth above and in law.
  • Past President - Shall issue, or cause to be issued, meeting notices in accordance with the Bylaws of the Association, attending, and keeping precise records of all such meetings. Shall perform such duties as the President or Board of Directors may designate, and in the absence or inability of the President to serve, shall perform the duties of President.
  • Secretary/Treasurer - Shall be the custodian of all funds belonging to the Association, ensuring that all monies and other valuable effects are deposited in the name of and to the credit of the Association, keep a full, accurate, and current accounting of all funds belonging to the Association. Shall keep financial records in a manner acceptable to the Board of Directors and sufficient to protect the assets of the Association and meet the requirements of stewardship good accountancy, local, state, and federal law and such other records as directed by the Board of Directors or law.  
  • At-Large - Governing body of the Association, responsible for the successful conduct of the Association's affairs. Shall establish policies, initiates activities and makes recommendations to the leadership of the Association. 
  • City Executive - Shall work with officers, directors to oversee the programs committee to develop a series of programs of interest to Association members.
