STANDING COMMITTEES - Appointed by Officers and Board of Directors
Education - Shall enhance the level of professional knowledge available to members, sponsor informative programs on new and relevant information or topics of interest and shall actively work to facilitate and encourage participation in the programs of BOMI.
Finance & Planning - Shall audit Association accounts annually; advise on the formulation of the yearly Association budget, dues assessments, and financial matters; and develop plans for the long-range growth and development of the Association.
Communications - Shall act as the public information resource and oversee enhancing the public image, prestige, & influence of the Association in civic & business affairs. Publicizing the purposes and activities of the Association to Members, the commercial real estate industry and the general public.
Membership - Shall be chaired by the President-Elect and identify, interest and nominal individuals for membership in the Association through a coordinated program of activities and shall have as its purpose the increase of membership and retention of existing members.
By-Laws - Shall be charged with continuous review of the By-Laws of the association, ensuring that the By-Laws conform to the wishes of the membership and Board of Directors and facilitate the operation thereof.
Programs - Shall work with the officers, directors and committees to develop a series of programs of interest to Association members and the commercial real estate industry.
Nominations - Shall consist of members who have been in the organization not less than 3 years and who have served as committee members or officers. They shall select and verify the qualifications of candidates for officers and directors and report their names to all members in writing at least (30) days prior to the Annual Meeting or the meeting at which elections are to be held.
Safety & Security - The Safety & Security Committee shall act as a resource to the members providing information related to emergencies, natural disasters, FEMA, business continuity planning and other related topics.
Allied - The Allied Committee will work with the Allied membership and bring their interests and concerns directly to the Board of Directors.
Government Affairs/Legislation - The Government Affairs Committee shall work to improve conditions relative to the ownership and management of commercial real property and the community, particularly where they may relate to municipal, state, and federal legislative, code, judicial, and regulatory actions.
Engineering - The Engineering Committee shall work with association members geared towards providing maintenance, repairs and handy-man services.
Awards & Recognition - Shall work with the Programs committee, Board of Directors and City Executive selecting judges for annual TOBY program and coordinating TOBY awards for annual meetings of the membership.
Community Outreach - Shall work with local charitable and non-profit groups to provide voluntary services on behalf of BOMA Greater Charlotte and its membership.
Culture and Connection - This committee will facilitate a culture within the organization to value and promote diversity, inclusion and equity.
Emerging Professionals - Shall act as a resource for Emerging Professionals in the real estate field
Industrial -
Host 1-2 onsite property training/education sessions with vendors and managers
Advisory Council - comprised of active past-presidents with goal to review/recommend Advisory Council Members and coordinate/conduct Advisory Council meetings 2x/year.
2027 SRC Southern Region Conference Planning - The SRC will be held in Charlotte in 2027, if you are interested in joining the committee to support the process. The conference will be in April of 2027 and will be Thursday - Saturday. There will be nightly networking events, educational series, breakfast, registration and many other necessary planning activities.
